On February 9, 2015, committed gay couples married in Alabama for the first time.
I hope we will look back on this date as the moment we began to feel this page turn in earnest.
I hope outspoken conservative leaders recognize the harm in continued resistance, and realize that if they can’t agree, they should minimally be polite.
I hope my brothers and sisters in Christ who are unhappy with this development will ultimately find peace in the realization that we can better be His hands and feet focusing our energies and passions elsewhere.
I hope that gay marriage as an issue, one of the most divisive and destructive sociocultural monsters of my generation, has been mortally wounded and shall soon succumb.
