Xenu was, according to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, the dictator of the “Galactic Confederacy” who 75 million years ago brought billions of his people to Earth (then known as “Teegeeack”) in a DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and killed them using hydrogen bombs.
You’ll find that leading off the Xenu page on Wikipedia. Xenu is a documented teaching of the Church of Scientology, though widely denied or dismissed by church officials.
Xenu, as in Xenu.net, is also the URL for Operation Clambake, a fascinating site of Scientology resources (and a potentially valuable one for anyone trying to leave the church).
The Leah Remini brouhaha prompted me to take my first sustained look at this organization, and the deeper you dig, the more bizarre it gets — not just with church beliefs, but tactics it appears to employ against its perceived enemies, both inside and outside the church. Take a spin on YouTube sometime.
