Did BoWilliams.com make you mad? Read this first

(Longtime readers may feel a sense of déjà vu here. I made a similar post about four years ago. However, this one is permalinked on a sidebar.)

As I type, BoWilliams.com has been continuously available and regularly updated for more than 16 years. I was 35 years old when I started it. I’ll be 52 in April.

That’s a long time.

In all that time, I’ve only ever taken one post down permanently. It was an editorial that had to do with some of President Obama’s motorcade practices. It was live for about an hour before I decided it might attract undesirable attention, like from the Secret Service. (And hey, with that mention, they may be here reading now. Hiya, folks.)

So the two points are 1) BoWilliams.com has been around a long time; and 2) it’s essentially completely intact. There are almost 4,000 posts here. And because they represent my heart, mind, and soul over a substantial percentage of my life, I’m certain to have said things that I wouldn’t say now.

To be absolutely clear, I’m not talking about some past racism or something similarly heinous. I mean things like a crass post about Amy Fisher, which I wouldn’t make today. I mean things like a post saying I’ll vote for Trump, which I never did.

That’s not to say I’m not an opinionated jerk from time to time. I am. Leave me a scathing comment if you think I deserve it.

But if it doesn’t seem to fit my flavor of opinionated jerk, have a look at the date.

  1. I have been reading your blog for quite some time, and I always appreciate and respect your opinions and perspective. That doesn’t mean I always agree with everything you say, but that’s not important. What’s important is that you feel comfortable presenting your thoughts and opinions in a publicly accessible forum.

I don’t want to be surrounded by people who see everything the way I do. Differing opinions and perspectives help us to hone our own ideas and beliefs and to grow as human beings.

I hope you will continue to just “put it out there” and I will continue to be a loyal reader.

BTW – No, BoWilliams.com has never made me mad.

    • Thank you for reading and thank you for your kind words! Nope, no danger of me changing how I operate. I’ve never understood trying to be someone different online. This is me!
