Thursday miscellanea #635

This has been another week of me failing to meet my own (really rather meager) expectations on posting. I’m sorry. Too much organic real life is happening.
I am in Montgomery for the annual human trafficking summit. Watch my feeds tomorrow for highlights.
It’s already been a roaring success. In addition to the extended WellHouse training we received today, Carolyn Potter joined our dinner party, and frankly I was a little starstruck. She is royalty in the war on human trafficking, and getting to spend a little time with her in a small group was a real treat.
David Crosby has died at 81. Call me a rube, but my favorite was always “Southern Cross,” rather than something more iconic. RIP.
I think we’ve settled into what feels like a semi-permanent state of half-ass in way too many retail and service industries. Some are fine; others are not. We’ve lowered our standards from expecting a top-notch experience because this is America dammit, to oh-thank-God-we-got-anything-at-all. Well, you know, shucks, man, we can’t keep people. Supply chain. Blah blah blah. I may say more later if I feel like I can make it worth reading.
Looking forward to watching the conference championships with my family on Sunday. In the Super Bowl, I am for the Eagles, then the Bengals, then the Chiefs. I would love to see Jalen Hurts with a ring.
