Thursday miscellanea #595

  • There is rain in the forecast every day through the end of time because I’m trying to get a Termidor treatment. So, my fault. I’m sorry.
  • “He’s made a lot of enemies in the police department because he’s a guy who’s righteous. He might be circuitous in his process, but he is not dishonest and he’s not corrupt. He’s apolitical, which is part of his undoing in this final season. He refuses to magnetize his moral compass based on the political ambitions of people within the government.” – Titus Welliver on Harry Bosch (Spoilers. Don’t click the link if you haven’t finished Bosch but intend to.) The show is unquestionably an all-time great, and I look forward to the new series.
  • Aaron wanted to go to Star Market on the way back from his doctor’s appointment yesterday, so we did. He commented on just how limited our selection at Publix is on some things. (And this is not a large store we visited.)
  • Though I still enjoy college and pro football, my enthusiasm for them is not what it once was. This is not all bad. Coupled with my affection for auto racing, it means that it’s generally not far to the start of football by the time I start thinking about it in earnest.
  • To hear some people in one of the Facebook groups I follow, the roundabout is responsible for an incredible amount of carnage and misery. I think roundabouts are awesome and I’m looking forward to having one at Balch and Gillespie in another several weeks.
  • This is the third week in a row we’ve been without Robin Miller’s Mailbag on Racer.com, and we have a rather depressing message stating the hiatus is now indefinite. Robin is seriously ill. God be with him, and here’s hoping things turn toward the positive soon.
  • I have a review of a rather unique hot sauce coming in the next day or two. Watch for it.
