  • Please note: there is no N in restaurateur. There are two Ms in accommodate. There is no X in asterisk.
  • Ryan Parris, a senior and long snapper at James Clemens, is a committed walk-on at Alabama. He’s also the grandson of my fourth-grade Alabama history teacher (1979), and the son of an Oxford High School bandmate (1985). Very cool. God bless, Roll Tide, and good luck, young man. I know you have a rock-solid foundation, because I know the fine people who gave it to you. Go build on it!
  • I dug Lea’s old desktop computer out to get what she wanted off of it and to see about it as a dedicated SETI@home machine. (I like the SETI@home screen saver over my left shoulder on the shelf.) I was thinking it was maybe five years old; it’s actually nine. Sigh. Maxes out at 2GB RAM, and it’ll cost me $54 to do that. Pass. I’ll just stay with 1GB.
  • I reviewed Taziki’s for Rocket City Mom, and everything we had was excellent. This place is worthy. I’m going back for several more of those beef tenderloin sandwiches.
  • Felicity Jones looks like a lock for Star Wars VII.
  • My 55-gallon aquarium has sat idle for far too long. I miss having fish in my study. I don’t think I’m going back marine. I’m between an Amazon and dedicated brackish, which I’ve never done before. You know, scats? Gobies?
  • Something dramatic and disruptive is imminent for Radio Shack. What if some of them turn into Amazon.com stores? (Pssst…Amazon.com has $5,000,000,000 in the bank.)

  1. Crucial had the memory for $35 delivered. Sold. Now I’m thinking crazy things like putting a small SSD in it. Why not? Be easy to get back out and repurpose, after all. I’ll have the sexiest nine-year-old Pentium 4 EVAH!
