Thursday miscellanea #554

  • Scheduled my physical and set my desktop countdown clock. I’m not telling you how much COVID-19 weight I have to lose, but it’s a lot. Restarted my intermittent fasting regimen. I’ll start easing exercise back in this weekend.
  • I’m going to run the soundboard at our church’s first service back next month, and I want to be effectively masked. So the COVID-19 beard shall perish the day before. I’ll remove it in creative stages (Amish, mutton chops, and so forth), and take photographs. It’s been fun to watch, but I will not miss it.
  • Anybody played with the new Microsoft Edge yet? When Edge first came out I took Microsoft at its word that it was cooked, and jumped right in. I won’t be doing that this time.
  • I haven’t spent much time over there yet, but I joined Parler. I’m @ElrodClyde over there, just as I am on Twitter.
  • The marching band restrictions for the fall have begun. I hadn’t thought about it, but it makes sense. Surely there are few more efficient ways to distribute potentially cootiefied air than placing hundreds of systematically exhaling people between two crowds.
  • I’m helping a restaurateur friend with some beta testing this weekend. I’ll write about it a bit afterward, if I’m allowed.
  • James Spann says we can reasonably expect below-average temperatures through July 9. I’ll take it!
