“The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal.”

Today, dear readers, I invite you to enjoy one of my favorite short stories:  Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. If you have read it already, please reread it.  (It’ll be good again.  I promise.)

It will take you 10 or 15 minutes at the most, but it will stay with you for the rest of your life.  It’s here.  Enjoy.

I hope you’re having a good weekend.

  1. You know what gets me? That Vonngut is listed in Widipedia as being a socialist. This reminds me of the feeling I had when I saw that Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie REALLY, REAALY want to star in “The Foundtainhead.” Am I the only person on earth to wonder about the dichonomy there? I mean…Atlas Shrugged being admired by liberals. I’ve got a couple of libs as friends that have said that they sooooo admired “Atlas Shrugged.” Hello???? Ayn Rand would be pulling her own ears off if she could she the current administration’s leanings. Do they even know what the stories are ABOUT???? These things fly in the face of everything that the liberal left stand for. For the love of God, am I that sees this? I do not see how someone who lables himself a socialist would not see that everything he’s writing about goes against EVERY SINGLE social axiom. Sometimes I think I’m taking crazy pills.
