Thursday miscellanea #601

I said what I had to say about the Afghanistan mission at large. Certainly there is plenty of better-worse to add about particulars of its final phase and ending. I’m sad and I’m angry, but even so, I’m not sure I’ll be doing any of that adding.

Don’t think I’ve ever gotten a flu vaccine as early as mid-August, but I did today. Apparently you can just walk up and get a shingles vaccine at Publix now too. I’ll do that soon.
South Huntsville has a new Vietnamese place that is promising indeed, based on my initial visit with Mrs. Heflin today. Watch for a review soon.
I just started season four of The Wire, and I will finish the show. While it is well done, it does not make my short list of best ever.
The last oval of the 2021 IndyCar season is Saturday night at Gateway. This is a speedy mile and a quarter, and typically makes for a good race. In other fantastic news, Iowa is back for a double-header next year.
Well, the out-of-nowhere tornado warning last night was a little disturbing. Preliminary investigation today indicates no tornado damage in the Athens area.
