Thursday miscellanea #546

• New order’s in effect now. Check with you May 15.
• Some parts of SpaceX’s StarLink satellite constellation are occasionally visible in the Huntsville area, and unusually so right now because they’re not yet at their operating altitude. Tonight’s a great night. Look for the satellites to move northwest to southeast, about 8:08 pm.
• We wound up having Wendy’s one night this week. (I’m sorry, my local friends. We wanted burgers and didn’t want to go far.) It’s one of the better burgers you can get passed through a window around here. I also renewed my love affair with Wendy’s Hot Chili Seasoning, which is unlike any other condiment out there. It’s not really that hot, but it’s an intense shot of salt and flavor. I’d call it “turbo umami.”
• We finished Mindhunter and really enjoyed it, only to learn season 3 is on indefinite hold thanks to the whims of David Fincher. I dropped CBS All Access without finishing Picard. Now the boys are after me to get HBO. I don’t care anything about jumping into Game of Thrones, but I wouldn’t mind watching Westworld.
• NASCAR has announced plans to run at Darlington with no in-person spectators on May 17. That is one of the few reliably entertaining NASCAR tracks left, and I’m starved for a live race. We’ll catch that one for sure.
• Had to shave my mustache this weekend. It was driving me crazy. So I look really Amish while it’s growing back in. (Oh my mercy, the beard’s a beast.)
• Looks like marvelous weekend weather. I need motivation for outside chores. Should help.
