Thursday miscellanea #555

I ventured out to Stovehouse last weekend to help Stan with some product development. Apart from a handful of dashes in and out of the post office and liquor store and Nathan’s graduation, it was my first time in public since the lockdown began. It was strange.
In light of Governor Ivey’s extension of Safer at Home through July 31, we postponed our church reopening. The COVID-19 beard shall soldier on.
It is difficult to overstate how much Carl Reiner shaped and nourished our collective sense of humor over the past century. He was mostly a just-out-of-the-spotlight guy, but he was so screamingly funny in front of the camera too, on those relatively rare occasions he was there. Thank you, sir. RIP.
Lea and I finished Hannibal last night. We enjoyed the first two seasons. We thought the third started off silly and pretentious, and never recovered. By the end of the third season/series we were very much “yeah, whatever. Next!”
Facebook on my PC finally changed over to the new UI. It’s all blobular and I don’t know where anything is. Good excuse to spend less time there. I need to cultivate the discipline to check it twice a day, for no more than 30 minutes total.
