Thursday miscellanea #461

  • I need jeans again. This will be the last size I have to buy before I fall back into the size I have seven pairs of.
  • I’ve tiptoed back into watching major league baseball a time or two this spring, and I’m not sure what to think. When I watched 20 years ago, part of its appeal was that it was so organic and low-tech. I’m not convinced that all of the technology overlaying a typical broadcast these days adds value.
  • Just found out this week that an old grade school classmate of mine owns a well-regarded restaurant in Daphne. We’ll get that on our list for our next beach trip.
  • I gave the new Lost In Space my attention for two full episodes, but it didn’t take. I’m not sure exactly why. Production quality is generally high, and it seems well cast and written. There’s just a missing X-factor for me.
  • I care little about celebrities’ personal lives, but I always loved that Ric Ocasek and Paulina Porizkova had stayed married. Well, now they’re not. Thrown in at 29 years. Wow.
  • It’s May. It’s time to see 2001 and Solo!
  • I’ll be a celebrity/VIP BBQ judge at WhistleStop this weekend, representing Rocket City Mom. Look for the fat goofy guy in a Hawaiian shirt and say hello.
