- Alan Rickman has died at 69 after a short battle with cancer. It’s been a devastating week for legendary British performers. RIP.
- Alabama has added national title #16 by defeating a very talented Clemson team that mostly scorched the Tide defense at will. Happy to have enough offensive and special teams tricks in the bag to pull it out, because it absolutely took the whole team to do it.
- So the Rams are headed back to Los Angeles. I generally don’t like NFL teams moving, but this is restoration of what previously existed, so it’s OK. Geography matters. I like the Saints, but I wouldn’t like the Portland Saints or the Des Moines Saints. But, I’m also a Packers fan, and they’re certainly the least likely team to move in the league. So that’s some cover.
- The first week of Upward went well. Still a few things to tie up here and there, but it’s off the ground and flying. Thankful for that.
- A coworker brought me some crispy baked pea pods, wasabi ranch flavor, that he didn’t want. (He didn’t notice the “wasabi” part when he bought them.) They’re really tasty and considerably more nutritious than chips, though I bet I wouldn’t like what they cost.
- NBC Sports Network has remained the toughie when it comes to pulling the plug on cable. (And it’s really the only one. Very frustrating.) Everything else is solved to my satisfaction (or can be). NBCSN is an outlier.
- Looks cold again this weekend after a couple of days of upper 50s. Hey, it is January.

I’ve been a Steelers fan since the 70s. Doubt they will ever move either.
I agree. In the conversation I had this morning that led to that bullet, I named the Cowboys, Packers, Patriots, and Steelers as teams that were least likely to move. I think it’s some degree of plausible for anyone else.
I watched the game again, sans emotion and stress. It was wildly entertaining. We’ll see you next year. 😉
Cheryl, I believe you’re in the conversation now for sure!
I’d put good money down that the Rams – and any other team that winds up there – leaves LA within ten years. I don’t care that it’s the second-biggest market in the country. It’s not a football town. They care more about basketball and baseball and – I bet – soccer than football.
Yeah, it’s a shame. If they never build any personality–any spirit–around it, then it doesn’t stick. That’s a big part of what makes me a Packers fan.
