- So, with the odd break in the week generated by the weather, we didn’t get the garbage to the street this morning. It’s Thursday, but it feels like Tuesday. Feeling displaced more than one day is weird.
- Did you see my Rocket City Mom review for VBAS Planetarium shows on Saturday night? The boys and I had a marvelous time. It’s an excellent value, too.
- The boys got Rubik’s Cubes in their Easter baskets. Apparently they ship with the solution now. I’m a little ashamed to admit I never learned to solve it, but I’ll get around to it. I certainly don’t want to go step by step reading a brochure.
- I’m irritated with myself for not getting on our garden sooner. I’ll get out there this weekend and finish prep so Lea can plant next week. Some stuff will be a bit late, but we’ll get it. Plus, she’s already got some tomatoes in containers.
- Sounds like Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2 will all be in Episode VII, and all played by their original actors. That’s amazing.
- So good to have lunch with our old friend Susan yesterday, who hasn’t aged a day. Wish West End Grill had been more impressive, though. It was the site of mine and Lea’s first date in October 1994, and we were excited to go back, but…meh. My grilled chicken sandwich was dry, and service was a little spotty. Lea said her beer-battered cod was good, though.

I too am excited to hear (officially) that Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, C3-PO, and R2 will be in the movie. I’m also equally excited by the fact that the rest of the primary actors/actresses announced contain no one I’m familiar with. I’ve found recently that big production movies with fresh talent tend to do markedly better than movies with well known stars.
I believe that was mostly the case when comparing the original trilogy with the more recent trilogy. It also helps when Lucas isn’t directing too.
You probably know Max von Sydow. I’m hoping he’ll be a dark side baddie. He’d be very good at that.
