Thursday miscellanea #155

  • The boys and I saw my dad last night.  I’m letting too much time get by between visits, and for no good reason.  I need to get a handle on that.
  • In-N-Out Burger is on the way east—and this time it’s no joke.  I suppose I’d like to try one, but really, I’d love Del Taco back first.
  • I think many people who believe they can drive and talk on the phone must confuse driving legally with driving well.  Folks, you can be a rotten driver and never break the first law.
  • I lost Sunday before last to a questionable tummy, and then last weekend was our Lake Winnie trip.  I’m looking forward to getting back to church this Sunday.
  • If you’re including walking as part of a fitness program and you’re not using a pedometer, you’re almost certainly overestimating the number of steps you’re taking.  Even if you don’t want to carry one every day, use one long enough to improve your estimating ability.  Until I trained myself better, I was guessing I’d walked double what I had.
  • A prequel to the still-outstanding The Thing is coming next month.  That seems like one that should have been left alone, boys and girls.
  • OK, so Florida Atlantic, Ole Miss, and Samford.  Who else?  Might get by Georgia, I guess.  So how soon will the defensive coaching staff heads roll?  You’d think it’d be after a loss, but what if Auburn wins 49-38 or something this weekend?
