The boys and I met BamaDan and his boys for tonight’s Alabama Vipers game.
Arena football is a crazy game with very little consistent defense, which means turnovers are almost always enormous. Indeed, they were the difference in the Vipers’ loss to Tampa Bay tonight.
We were on the NFL Network for this game, so it was a particularly festive atmosphere. You know, I told Nathan he didn’t need his binoculars. I think we’ll bring some next time, though.
Incidentally, I have to tell this on Nathan. One of the Viper Vixens leaned over and asked him if he wanted some stick-on eye black, and he quickly grabbed it from her and stuck it on his shirt!
After we finished our chuckle, I leaned over and said “dude, a big part of it is the pretty girl sticking it on your face herself.” So, I demonstrated. Heh. He still didn’t get it. Ah, prepubescence.
We’ll keep it in the rotation. It’s a great outing for the money and time spent.
I hope you have a good weekend.

Once upon a time, back when there was an Arena Football League 2, we had a team in my area – the Manchester (NH) Wolves. Now? Nothing.
It’s always amazed me that when some minor league or lower-level pro teams came to New Hampshire (Manchester is also the home of the Toronto Blue Jays AA farm club, known as the Fisher Cats) none of them ever thought call themselves the New Hampshire Freedom.
Is it me, or is that just too obvious a name?
Indeed, that would be a great name. Never happen in today’s climate, though. That name is much too jingoistic and scary. Only slack-jawed, gun-toting rednecks celebrate freedom and liberty for their own sakes.
(Exaggerating, but not much.)
It’s a good time. We need to make the effort more often.
Good times, bro. Even with the loss 😐 I think had we stayed we would have gotten coupons for free cheesy bread…like we needed that.
A good time and I think I’ll email Vipers management and ask them to continue Viperville (with the free swag and beer of course).
