I’m going to watch network television two nights in a row.
Tonight on Monday Night Football, it’s the Bo’s Blogging Buddies Bowl, as nhfalcon‘s boys face off against Saintseester‘s boys. I’m told by a rabid NFL fan at work that it’s probably the Saints’ to lose, but he also suggested the Falcons might hit the ground pissed off after getting pounded in their last game. We’ll see. To the degree that I’ve paid attention, which is admittedly not a large one, I’m thinking this might be the year the drought ends in New Orleans.
Tomorrow night is the premiere of the reimagined V. I was a big fan of both original miniseries—the short-lived, cut-budget, Kenneth Johnson-less weekly series, not so much—and I’m looking forward to seeing what some thoughtful folks and a large budget can do with the idea in 2009. (The few reviews I’ve read have been highly positive, which is encouraging. The trailers look good too.)
(And I must tell of my witty wife.) We were watching a spot for it on TV, and Anna, the leader of the Visitors, is talking to an interviewer just before showtime. She says “Don’t ask any questions that would portray us negatively.” Lea immediately asked, “oh, is this about the Obama administration?”

V was/is one of my all-time favorite ever mini-series. It was the cream of the crop in the hey-dey of the mini-series decade.
Mine too. (Got ’em, if you ever want to borrow ’em.) 🙂 I also liked Alien Nation a lot. Kenneth Johnson was a cool guy.
Supposedly in the new V, there shall be occasional inside references for fans of the original franchise.
LOL LEA!
W00T! Points for Lea!!
NO! I never want to watch them again, because that would ruin it. What if it isn’t as good as I remember. I can’t relive old memories, it never works out.
Kudos to Saintseester’s boys. Hell of a game. Wish my guys could have pulled it out, but NO is clearly the better team right now.
Loved me some V in the day. Remember the commercials that just showed the letter on a black background and said “V is coming in X days” in a countdown? It was downright viral. I still remember reinacting the ginuea pig scene with my entire elementary school at lunch for a week or so. Jane Badler was teh HAWT!!!
In a mortality-inducing moment, I was discussing the new V with a co-worker and referenced the original series. He had no idea what I was talking about. I am old.
‘seester: Aw, come on. You’re cheating yourself out of some great memories!
nhfalcon: Alas, I didn’t see it all. The fall time change, she isn’t so good for staying up late to watch a football game. 🙂
BamaDan: Oh man, what a babe. Diana can try to convert me anytime.
