I’m aware my blog has sucked lately. I apologize.
Part of it is that I’ve had a bad cold, and given that I remain appalled at the copious column inches I’ve given my illnesses upon browsing such in the archives, I won’t go into further detail. Another part of it is a little gray cloud that may or may not ultimately be blogworthy, but that shall remain maddeningly unresolved for at least another few weeks.
We were supposed to take a day trip today with friends, but Nathan is sick, so we rescheduled. He’s doing better now than he was this morning, so fingers crossed for later in the week. Man, does it ever blow to wake up thinking you’re going to have a pleasant day off, only to get the changed plans, followed by the cruel realization that nothing is preventing you from going to work now.
Halo Wars is pretty good. The Halo games with which I’ve had a seven-year-long love affair are first-person shooters, and Halo Wars is not a first-person shooter, so I kept my expectations realistic. It’s true to the Halo universe, and the gameplay is deep enough to avoid that binary sort of predictability that tends to be my usual complaint about real-time strategy games. I’m enjoying it, though I expect its real potential is on Xbox Live. Perhaps I’ll get back out there soon.
Thanks for hanging around, dear readers. I’ll get it kicked back up very shortly.

I don’t have any illusions about it. Pile on; I can take it.

I stayed with the day off plan and we headed up to Nashville to the Adventure Science Center (always be the Cumberland Museum to me). Very cool trip. But the reschedule sounds good also.
BamaDan: We’re hopeful. Today is better than yesterday was.
