Your comment about not going to church while in college struck home. My son will be leaving for college next year, and I am hoping that he has moved past, “This is what I believe because Mom and Dad say so,” to “This is what I believe because it is written in my heart.” I refused to let him be recruited by Notre Dame. I’d rather him try to stay Catholic in a secular school than be led astray by a Catholic-in-name-only school that would undermine everything I’ve been trying to teach him.
