- Did you know that they still make candy cigarettes, but they’re called candy “sticks”? Also, they don’t come in packaging that very closely resembles real cigarette packaging (right down to the almost-correct logo) anymore. What the hell was up with that, anyway? Cigarettes have been unambiguously bad for you in the medical literature since 1965 or so. How did a seven-year-old in 1978 have access to candy cigarettes?

Dots are awesome. I buy a theater box of them every so often during the year. Not as good as Gummy SweetTarts or Sour Patch Fruit Salad, but in the pantheon of fruit candy it stacks up well to Skittles and Starburst. Yeah, Dots rule.
How come nobody gives out candy corn anymore? Must. Have. Candy corn.
We missed out on Halloween candy this year. 🙁 Way too much travel for band that weekend. Maybe next year I’ll make out like a bandit with the Halloween candy!

Candy cigarettes ruled! Even the young mormon kids got those. Irony. Yeah.
Y’all remember those huge long tubes of colored sugar? I’m talking 3 feet long or so? I never understood why a kid would pick that over a honking big Hershey’s bar.
No lollypops this year? If neighbors weren’t handing out chocolate or good bubble gum (Hubba Bubba or Bubble Yum), they scored points for handing out Blow Pops or Charms pops.
