Thursday miscellanea #619

  • Soon both of our children will be at the Capstone! Got back this afternoon from Aaron’s Bama Bound orientation. He’s excited about going. I’m excited for him.
  • (And it really wasn’t a super-long day, and Tuscaloosa is an easy road trip, but sheesh, I’m tired. In an old man kind of way!)
  • Lea and I finished Longmire tonight. It’s not a bad show—I mean, we just watched six seasons—but it’s a little uneven. It vacillates pretty significantly between nearly Afterschool Special-level glurge and pseudo-Tarantino edginess and gore.
  • This story on Yellowstone’s flooding features my Oxford High School classmate Sherri Jordan Deerman. Pretty cool!
  • Microsoft’s support for Internet Explorer ended yesterday (more or less). The HTML Help (.chm) format relies on some of the same pieces, so that might get interesting.
  • My friend Wendy got to fly with the Blue Angels! How cool is that?
  • Looks like we’ll retreat to seasonal temperatures for the weekend before another heat wave next week. Grateful for the bit of relief.
