- I saw a mention of hammerhead worms a year or so ago, but today is the first time I put it together that they can secrete tetrodotoxin, which is a nasty neurotoxin indeed. I don’t think they’re around in northern Alabama, but it may just be a matter of time. If you see one, use caution (and read the linked article).
- I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about divorces and resulting adventures in school districts, but it was only up for about an hour because I got paranoid some nitwit would give a damn from several decades ago, and I couldn’t quite generate enough comfort for myself researching the applicable statute of limitations. (Allegedly.) If you got to read it, awesome!
- I have noticed my shipping times are looking much more like the Amazon Prime of old lately. I’m tempted to credit the new Amazon.com facility that lies to the southwest, but tracking information doesn’t support such.
- Aaron and I are going to see The Batman this weekend, and it will be my first visit to the theater since pre-COVID. I’m excited. I had 12 tickets built up in my Movie Club account.
- I’m at least two years out from buying a car, but I’ve started poking around a little bit. I note you can’t get a new Accord with a manual anymore, and if you want a Civic sedan with one, it has to be an Si. (And if you want a new American sedan, your choices are the Dodge Charger, the Chrysler 300, the Cadillac CT, or the Chevrolet Malibu. Really. Wow. I especially can’t believe you can’t buy a new Buick car anymore.)
- I really hope Tua kicks ass this season. I’m tired of the jawing, and there’s only one reliable way to stop it.
- Looks like a couple of warmer days are forecast, but mostly it’s wall-to-wall 60s and 40s during the day and at night respectively. Love it!
