The level of hearsay/rumor/conspiracy theories/other unsupported crap going around the interwebs about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is absolutely staggering.
We have resumed in-person monthly meetings of the North Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force. For now, we meet in the auditorium at the main branch of the Huntsville Madison County Public Library, on the first Tuesday of the month at 2 pm. Well, Black Summer started promisingly, but rapidly devolved into yet more zombie dreck, and poorly paced zombie dreck at that. Boo. I’ll say it again, long and loud: there is so much good television out there, you couldn’t watch it all in ten lifetimes. Don’t stay with something that doesn’t interest you.
I found out a few months ago that Brian—the person with whom I committed one of my most significant juvenile crimes—has been gone since 2013. Man, we had some adventures together. Probably a good thing we weren’t in touch as late adolescents/early adults, because our friendship may well have been a deciding factor in me going to jail. RIP.
Streaming services are great not only to explore new music, but old stuff you missed, and also old stuff you didn’t like. For example, I paid a verification visit recently of at least 30 minutes’ duration each to The Band, Radiohead, and Slayer, and determined to my complete satisfaction that I will never again listen to any of these artists on purpose.
Enjoy the weather when it’s enjoyable, but don’t get excited yet. We’re several weeks from plausible “last freeze” talk.
The new USFL starts April 16, and did you know all of the games for the first season will be played in Birmingham?
