I’ve had this wine glass for about 15 years. I found it walking downtown with my friend Gail after lunch. It was lying in some grass about ten feet off the sidewalk. It’s been a shelf denizen in my home office since.
When I was cleaning it recently, I thought “you know what would be cool”?
This is 105 dice in 15 different color variations. They came to my house for $17.
Back when I was playing Dungeons & Dragons in the dark ages of the early to mid-1980s, we called the translucent or marbled ones “gem dice,” and the bookstore charged $3-4 each for them. I never had a set. Never even got close. Whenever I had that much money, I generally spent it on music.
I love the way it looks on my shelf. It’s also evocative for me. It still reminds me of Gail and her infectious laugh. It makes me think of my childhood. And, it makes me think of Nathan, who plays a bit himself.
