  • Lea’s mom’s chili soup plus Marie Sharp’s Smokin’ Marie hot sauce is a thoroughly kick-ass combination.
  • Mac Davis passed away on Tuesday. He was 78. I wouldn’t call myself a huge fan, but I always loved how accessible and engaging his music was. His songs made friends very quickly. Thank you, sir. RIP.
  • So did Helen Reddy. She was also 78. Her recording of “Delta Dawn” was one of the very first 45s I ever owned. RIP.
  • Why do you think it took so long for ketchup in a squeeze bottle to come to market? We futzed with those awkward glass bottles far longer than we should have.
  • They’re building a Dunkin’ on County Line. I just want a Chick-fil-A.
  • We met in person for the first time since March at Good Shepherd on Sunday, September 20. I can’t overstate how much I’ve missed corporate worship.
  • Double-header on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course this weekend. I just assumed that meant Saturday and Sunday, but it’s Friday and Saturday. We’ll have to DVR tomorrow’s race and then observe a social media blackout until we get a chance to watch it.
