Thursday miscellanea #500

  • Way back most of nine years ago for Thursday miscellanea #100, I thought it would be fun to do 100 different items. I don’t think I had any vague notion that I’d ever be doing a #500 (and I certainly couldn’t ever replicate such a stunt for such a number!). Thank you for reading BoWilliams.com, ladies and gentlemen.
  • I was in the mood for a movie on Tuesday night and wanted to watch Destroyer, but it’s not out for a couple more weeks. I settled for Peppermint. It’s pretty mindless, but I was sufficiently entertained.
  • Lori Loughlin has been indicted on fraud and money laundering charges that carry a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison. Now it remains unlikely that she would do that much time, but I’d say the chance of her avoiding prison entirely has dropped to zero.
  • The Alliance of American Football appears to have perished indecorously, taking a lot of best shots and second chances (including Johnny Manziel’s seventh one or so) with it. Am I happy or sad I didn’t get any Birmingham gear in time? Hmmm.
  • A Final Four child sex-trafficking sting has resulted in 58 arrests. It’s not just the Super Bowl, folks.
  • So Terminator: Dark Fate will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2, ignoring 3, Salvation, and Genisys. That’s a fine and defensible way to go, but of the three discarded films, I think only Genisys is a disaster.
  • The weekend forecast isn’t quite as wall-to-wall as it was, but it still looks like rain. Lea and I were actually going to plant a garden this weekend. May have to break that off into weeknight chunks.
