You ever have the experience of watching a movie with your parents that you really shouldn’t have been watching with your parents? Sure you did, and so did I, on multiple occasions. One of the most memorable was Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
So think of this film, and unless you’re mentally ill, the first thing that pops in your mind is Phoebe Cates as Linda Barrett diving in and coming out of the pool (with significant extracurriculars), and Judge Reinhold as Brad Hamilton doing…well, honestly, what we all did. Wrote about that before.
And the conversation in my living room, in (probably) 1984, went:
Martha (stepmother): “Is he…dreaming?”
Dad: “Well, that might be what they called it in Sylacauga.”
Heh. Y’all have a good weekend.
