If I’ve ever encountered anyone talking about a “teachable moment” who wasn’t a finger-wagging, sanctimonious, insufferable jackass, I can’t remember it. “Teachable moments” tend to carry a payload of political correctness, don’t they? They’re never about practical, real-world lessons, like hard work yielding rewards, or loyalty begetting loyalty.
I think getting your finger-wagging, sanctimonious, insufferable ass kicked would probably itself qualify as a real “teachable moment.” Heh.
