I just don’t know about how it’s shaping up, honestly. There are at least four other authors–perhaps there are twice or three times that many, who knows?–none of whom are trying to coordinate any kind of subject coherence, schedule, or anything.
It’s definitely not the experience I was “sold,” nor is what my notification email the day before yesterday said (“you have been approved to write a blog about Alabama football on al.com”). That fosters thoughts of building an audience, establishing a brand–you know, pretty cool stuff. Instead, it seems that I’m to be a voice in a crowd, and I don’t think anyone’s thinking about the umbrella vision for it all at all.
I don’t know. I’m considering the issue. I may ultimately decide that I just want to continue my football blogging here on WmWms this fall.
My football blogging shall be here this fall, folks. The result of me being “approved” to blog over there is that I’m one of at least eight people on a single blog.
I don’t think the guy at al.com has a particularly clear idea of what he’s looking for, nor do I think he knew what he had in hand with me. In any case, it’s not going to be my problem.
Like “Freaks and Geeks,” Bo’s Blog was ahead of it’s time. It’s better to burn out than fade away…Leppard, heal thyself.
