Where do you shoot? Joani and I have been meaning to got out for quite a while, but never seem to manage it.
I really like my Glock 22, but I’m thinking I’d like the non-compact version a little better now. When I got it I was wanting the compactness, but not so much now. And where do you shoot? Larry’s?
For as much as I’m opposed to guns on a humanitarian level (I’m a lefty humanist, but you love me anyway), I can see how popping off a few shots at the end of the day might be a great stress reliever.
Buzzregog, Scott: Yup, Larry’s. I don’t know of any other options in the area, actually. I enjoy going there. The three different rangemasters I’ve met are all personable and knowledgeable.
Mrs. Chili: It definitely gets the adrenaline going. We go at lunch, which makes it damned tough to go sit at a desk all afternoon.
I love all kinds of people, your “lefty humanitarian” self included. ((((((Mrs. Chili)))))) And for the record, I have few earthly hopes more intense than the one that I never have to shoot anybody. However, if I am ever forced into that call, I want to be good at it.
Mrs. Chili – While flipping through the radio this morning I heard them talking about a business someplace in California where you could pay to break things. So to be more humanitarian instead of shooting a gun to relieve your stress you could pay to go throw plates at the wall. Since, it’s California, they probably even recycle the shards into mosaics. Coming soon to a lefty humanist town near you! 😉
Actually, I’m going to have to learn how to shoot a hand gun. I think it’s irresponsible to have a gun on the premises and not know how to handle it (even if it is locked up and I don’t remember the combination). I keep putting it off, though.

Lea, I’m not sure why I would want to pay to break somebody else’s stuff when I do that at home quite often. Actually, one of my greatest regrets in life is being unable to inflict pain on uncooperative inanimate objects.
My husband’s father gave us one of his handguns because he thought we should have one in the house. I just think he went a little overboard with a .357 magnum. I’ve shot one before (and was a little deafened for the day), but I think a .22 or 9mm would have been sufficient. In my opinion, a 12 gauge shotgun is best for home defense. You can’t miss.
Cheryl – I didn’t say that *I* would pay to do it, either. I’m just saying it’s an option for our non-gun-toting friends! 🙂
