Last term, one of my public speaking students delivered a speech about steroids in baseball. I STILL remember one of his lines from that speech – “I grew up idolizing a cheater.” Whether it was TECHNICALLY illegal to take what Bonds took at the time he took it, it’s still cheating, and there are a lot of kids – more than I realized – who are disappointed in the man.
