Coke, Pepsi to change caramel coloring to avoid cancer warning on label

Really!  Oh, but it won’t hurt you.  It’s perfectly safe even now.  Drink up.

(Actually I’m sure it is, but California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 is apparently still growing, and has suddenly made CARAMEL COLOR a carcinogen.)  I’m sure that’s also the source of “This product contains ingredients known to the state of California to cause cancer,” which has always struck me as a hilariously convoluted sentence.

What’s the red coloring made out of squished insects?  Carmine?  Let’s use that.
