Thursday miscellanea #581

No issues from my first Pfizer shot yesterday. The site is just a little sore. I’m disappointed that I can’t shoot webs yet. Maybe that takes a few days.
We stopped at the Conecuh Sausage company store this time on the way back from the beach, at exit 96 in Evergreen. We got some hot ‘n’ spicy, which our Publix has stopped carrying; as well as Cajun and cracked black pepper, neither of which our Publix has ever carried. Also bought some bacon, as well as some steak seasoning. We’re going to have quite a Conecuh dinner and breakfast this weekend.
We (well, I) also saw a pickup truck clad in the sort of loose black cloth vehicles wear when they are preproduction vehicles doing road testing. We were just south of Montgomery, so I’m betting it was the Hyundai Santa Cruz. Part of me wishes I’d been able to take a photo, but there was really nothing to see. It was a vaguely pickup-shaped black tarp going down the road.
Cortana is going away. I was never happier with technology in my life than when I carried a Windows Phone with Cortana helping me. It was the best implementation of an “everything” system anyone’s done yet. Sadly, Microsoft just didn’t have the chutzpah to knuckle down and weather its adolescence.
Houston, Baylor, UCLA, and Gonzaga, eh? Think I’ll pass. Maybe I’ll check in on it if I remember and I’m not doing anything else.
A freeze is forecast tonight and tomorrow night, but only barely. It’s not enough for mass destruction. We need hardcore for the bugs. We need mid-20s for four to six hours.
The 2021 IndyCar season begins in two weeks at Barber. So looking forward to it. I hope we’re going to get to go to Indy without COVID-related problems.
