On Monday my elder son hit a curb at speed sufficient to blow out the left front tire, then dropped the car on the jack when he was trying to follow my directions to change it. So I drove a round-trip to and from Tuscaloosa on Monday afternoon to mount his temporary spare, then put a new tire on the car tonight. Because Dad.
My single favorite Van Halen album is Fair Warning. My runner-up is 5150. RIP, Eddie.
…and incidentally, my son saw the live Oakland video for “Unchained” this week and said “wow, David Lee Roth was ripped!”
We’ve seemed so badly cursed on our beach trips. This weekend and the early part of next week is our family’s third running failure. Sure would love to go in the spring. Fates? Please?
The 2021 IndyCar schedule is out. There are only four oval races at three venues on it. Know why? No one’s going to oval races. It’s breaking my heart. I’m just glad Roger Penske is in charge of my favorite sport now.
We’re supposed to be at the beach this weekend. Instead Hurricane Delta is there, and the house at which we were going to stay is still under repair from Hurricane Sally. Thank you, 2020. Please drive through.
