- I am so angry and so sad about the senseless death of George Floyd. I pray for peace and justice. The rage is visceral, and it should be, but obviously what is going on now is no solution. My two friends in Minneapolis are approximately 1.5 and 3 miles respectively from the rioting.
- Give through Friday, 5/29, to save UAH hockey. The total was closing on $386,000 when I published this post.
- Season two of Goliath got too dark and grisly for Lea, so we punted to season three. And season three is a little too weird. So we’re firing it as Our Current Show. I’ll go back and finish it. Line of Duty may be our next one.

- I ordered beard oil and a beard brush last night. I’m ready to be rid of my beard, but I pledged not to until I went back into the office. That seems sooner now—but in the meantime, it has definitely crossed the threshold to needing dedicated substances and implements.
- We had a virtual North Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force board meeting last night using Zoom. It was very effective. I think that’s the most polished of the platforms I’ve used. Teams is pretty damned bad. The user interface is atrocious, which is not a usual complaint of mine for a Microsoft product.
- Whatever happens with college football this fall, it’s a near-certainty it won’t be normal. Let’s just hang on and watch. I hate that this is happening for Nathan’s first season on campus in Tuscaloosa.

Re:football season – I would be totally fine if they restricted in-person spectator attendance to students and players’ families. Yes, that means no visiting fans, but so what. The team belongs to the kids who are actually in school. Let them spread out in a 100k person stadium. Just my. $0.02.
