- I purchased kitty litter at Walmart at 6:17 this morning. Only gets better from here today, folks.
- Speaking of cats, I’ve been allergic since I was a child, but I get largely immune to specific animals. We can have a cat because I become acclimated to it. Now if I grabbed Harper and rubbed her really vigorously for several minutes near my face, then I would still have a reaction (runny nose, itchy neck, and tears, mostly). But day to day, she is no problem. That said, I still won’t be seeing you at Cattyshack, ever. I hope they are careful with that place. A little sloppiness with ventilation or cleanliness could make Lowe Mill miserable for the allergic.
- I’ve needed to replace my desktop computer for a couple of years now. Feels like I’m finally getting close. I have customized Nathan’s desktop enough that I feel comfortable building a PC, but the appeal of off-the-rack may get me. (I’m not sure there’s enough savings to be worth the difference.)
- There was a perfume ad in my Facebook feed, which seems odd, because neither Lea nor I have worn any sort of perfume or cologne in many years. It made me wonder what Chanel No. 5 costs these days, though. That was my mother’s perfume. It’s about $150 for the reasonably-sized bottle you would want to buy. That’s about double what I recall, which really means it hasn’t gone up at all.
- No spoilers, but I finished season 4 of Better Call Saul. I’ll watch season 5 no matter what, but season 4 really kind of stunk. Like, maybe a C to a C+. There are basic functional plot deficiencies. Lots of unrealized potential.
- Where you’ve seen that guy before: The motorcycle cop who pulls over the women in 9 to 5 when they’ve got the corpse in the trunk is the same guy as the Cadillac salesman Cooke kills at the beginning of Commando. The actor’s name is Michael DeLano.
- Here is another interesting take on pornography as a public health problem—one which has, among its other points, that anti-porn positions not grounded in morality exist. More into my hopper as I consider and rethink my positions on “sex work” in general.
