Saturday morning at Honest Coffee Roasters

So Conni got with the Honest Coffee Roasters people and put together an invite-only event for local influencers. I was pleased to be included. I enjoyed the laughter, fellowship, and breakfast with Lynda, Jennifer, Diana, Brady, Randy, and Anna.Honest is on Clinton, in the row of shops carved out from the parking garage. (This location means that even on a rainy Saturday morning, there are only five wet steps from your car!) It’s a cool space indeed, with some traditional coffee shop seating, some booths, and even some lounging areas. The garage door was even up.

The menu includes many artisanal coffee choices, as well as select edibles. Among several interesting choices, nothing sounded as good to me as my oatmeal (with walnuts, craisins, honey, and cinnamon) and my dark roast drip coffee. Indeed, both were delightful. It was the best coffee I’ve had in some time.

The signature breakfast item at Honest is the açaí bowl, with several topping variations. As delicious as my oatmeal was, I believe I’ll need to try one of these next time. Several of my friends enjoyed them.

There is also Greens, Eggs, and Yam, which is a quichey affair with sweet potatoes. I need to bring Lea by for that sometime.

This is a really neat space, in a downtown Huntsville that is exploding with rejuvenation. It’s really amazing how much more pleasant it is to walk around than it was even five years ago. A half-day adventure beginning at Honest Coffee Roasters just might be in our future.
