Legendary musician and actor David Bowie has succumbed to cancer at 69.
David Bowie did so much, so capably, in so many different styles, in his career that it’s pretty much impossible he didn’t appeal to you at some time or another. Furthermore, his influence was tremendous. I really loved what he did to shape new wave. Even when he was operating in a genre of which I wasn’t a particular fan, I appreciated the fineness of his craft. (I’m not a big fan of industrial music, but “The Hearts Filthy Lesson” is brilliant.)
God be with his family and friends. RIP.

God, that voice. Diamond Dogs is one of my all time favorite albums, though I didn’t discover it until 1980. He was a modern day Mozart IMO.
I can say, as a secure and happily married heterosexual, that he was a gorgeous man.
