Thursday miscellanea #283

I think #283 is the first Thursday miscellanea post to be numbered with a cubic inch displacement that is often used as a sole identifier for a well-known car engine. Several more of those to come, obviously. Wow. I remember thinking I’d never get to #100.
I made this recipe for a barbecue casserole on Tuesday for dinner. Added garlic and bacon because, well, garlic and bacon. It was good and quick.
My endeavor to maximize fuel economy while remaining considerate to my fellow motorists is going well. Getting to 35 mpg for the day is fairly easy. Getting to 36 is doable if I stay off the interstate. I don’t think I can get to 37 on my current commute without being rude.
We have Anaheim, habanero, jalapeno, and serrano chiles in the ground. My injury gave us a bit of a late start, but these are plants already and not coming up all the way from seeds, so hopefully we’ll get some fruit in a reasonable timeframe.

If it doesn’t rain, we have an IndyCar race on the road course at Indianapolis Saturday afternoon. This is the first such event. Looking forward to it.
Bridge Street says “summer” for Texas de Brazil at the most cursed location in the complex. I still miss The Tavern.
