Thursday miscellanea #275

  • Back below freezing this morning. Remember, kids, it’s a whole ‘nother month before we’re truly in the clear. Temper your excitement.
  • I am still not exactly enjoying my Lenten vegetarianism, though I had a black bean burger at Anaheim Chili yesterday that was pretty good. I remain hopeful that I can click over to spiritual from resentful sometime soon.
  • “Runaway” came on my Pandora, and that got me to the Del Shannon Wikipedia page, and that got me to musicians who have committed suicide. Lost Ronnie Montrose two years ago. Didn’t know that. Remember “Goin’ Down,” ca. 1982? That was Greg Guidry. He’s gone too. RIP.
  • Ford and GM are both doing a pretty good job with design language right now. Hoping the 2015 Chrysler 200 is as promising as it looks.
  • Never seen monster trucks in the metal before. The boys and I will this weekend. They have no clue. I’m excited about surprising them.
  • Did you know that Prince is quasi-credited with co-writing “Stand Back” by Stevie Nicks? Now you do.
  • That missing Malaysian airliner just keeps getting weirder, doesn’t it?
