Whether it’s software, portable electronics, or whatever: interface designers, during normal operation, I should never be only one click, touch, or button push from launching a complex setup or other configuration mode that requires several more clicks, touches, or button pushes to dismiss.
Is this really so hard to understand? Is it really so hard to design in?
You see, generally speaking, though I may use it every day, I don’t set it up every day, whatever it is. So it’s annoying to accidentally launch said setup during normal use, particularly when you then hold me captive through several more user actions before releasing me.
Please, make it two menus deep. Or require a continuous touch of two seconds. Or both.
