Good Shepherd’s Reveal services have been suspended indefinitely.
Well, I’m going to both services now. I’m doing Good Shepherd’s first regular service, and then going upstairs to Reveal. I am loving how much this diet energizes me.
One of my favorite things about the Reveal service is that it is well and enthusiastically attended by young adults. Folks just out of high school through their mid-20s or so aren’t supposed to be “into church.” I know where a bunch are, and they are very excited about God! It’s so heartening.
Good Shepherd’s regular service is what I would call “traditional contemporary.” There are electric guitars, and there are PowerPoint presentations, but within that paradigm, it’s still a fairly reserved experience. Reveal is reliably louder (sing! let it out!), but otherwise less predictable. Also, while both of our services emphasize practical applications of God’s word, it’s got a bit more of an edge at Reveal.
People stop attending church for a number of reasons. If one of yours is that it’s just too boring, come give Reveal a try. We meet every Sunday at 10:45 in the upper sanctuary at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
