Like it or not, that is irrefutable.
It was radical Islam, for sure. It was a strain of Islam alien to most adherents.
Of course that strain represents only a minority of Muslims. Islam is no more intrinsically Islamist than present-day Germany is Nazi — yet despite contemporary Germany’s innocence, no German of good will would even think of proposing a German cultural center at, say, Treblinka. – Charles Krauthammer
Or, as he also mentions, let’s put up a Japanese cultural center at Pearl Harbor. Oh, does that sound like a bad idea? What, are you prejudiced against Asian people?
Folks, do you get it? Building this enormous mosque/complex two blocks from Ground Zero is offensive. I am appalled at PC-infected Americans falling over each other to be the most “culturally sensitive” to this atrocious idea, with 3,000 of their countrymen’s tormented ghosts crying out within earshot.
Do you know that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, one of this proposal’s owners, has called the United States “an accessory to the crime” of 9/11? Do you know that he will not denounce terrorism, only calling it a “complex question”? (Thanks for that, buddy.) Do you know that he won’t denounce Hamas?
I challenge you to consider that radical factions of Islam may have a bit more of a foothold in the religion at large than radical factions of Christianity, Judaism, or whatever else. (Look up Wahhabi sometime and let me know what you find.)
Know that Cordoba House is estimated to cost $100 million, and also know there has been a decided lack of transparency concerning who the investors are.
Also note that name, evoking Cordoba, Spain, and read this:
“The Cordoba Mosque was the third largest mosque complex in the world … built on the site of a former Christian church, to commemorate the Muslim conquest of Spain. This perpetuated a cultural Muslim practice of building mosques on the sites of historic conquests.” – Peter Ferrara
The Ground Zero mosque is a terrible idea that will not “build bridges.” It is nakedly disrespectful to the lives lost on September 11.

I know that this marvelous Imam Al-Whatever is a strong proponent of Sharia law in this country. That having been said I like the idea spun over at Blackfive about building a gay bar right next to this mosque/recruiting center.
