Is it AIG’s substantial quarterly loss?
Or is it more federal funds for them?
Will you stop talking yet, Mr. President? Please?
Will you stop rescuing us for just a moment?
Please?
Can you please find it in yourself to stop town-halling and backyarding and joint-addressing and web-siting and Q&Aing and YouTubing and just shut the fuck up for…oh, a month, and we’ll see what happens?
How would that be?

Funny to see McCain, back in his proper element, shooting at the pork-laden budget. He should have never run for President. He’s too good as a Senator.
Meanwhile, I think I saw Tim Geithner on a milk carton this afternoon. Does he still have a job?
CNN.com was so transparent and pathetic and eager for it today. “Dow rallies,” the headline said. It was up 35 points.
(It wound up closing down 37, which, given that it could have been worse, is actually a GAIN!)
Good stuff here.
Oh, and the Rush Limbaugh situation is a scream.
However, given that I really try to keep the political red meat to about weekly (not that this budding banana republic makes that easy; appreciate my restraint), and also given that I don’t really have anything new to say about the relationship Rush has with his listeners and with the country at large, I refer you to this post.
For a supposedly intelligent President, Obama sure makes a lot dumb mistakes. Even the so-called simpleton, GW, never called out media pundits by name. Limbaugh has to be laughing his ass off over all the attention he’s getting from no less than the President of the United States. Heck, this bru-ha-ha has me listening to him again.
Obama’s actions are easier to understand, though no less ridiculous, in the framework of the eternal campaign. That’s exactly what he’s doing. Calling out Rush on the stump wouldn’t be a particularly strange thing to do, after all.
I’ve also noticed it in that Obama appears to take absolutely every shot he perceives. Hell, he even gratuitously dug at Bush when undoing a ruling of his on the Endangered Species Act this week. It’s not clicked for Obama that the undoing is itself the political stroke, and quite sufficient.
“I won,” anyone?
I think it might be run-of-the-mill insecurity, myself. We’ve never had a president who’s done so little with himself before arriving in the Oval Office, and maybe that haunts him.
Rush, in his own words, illustrates absurdity through absurdity. I think most on the left fail to realize that.
You know, they don’t even get that far. It is exceptionally rare that I encounter anyone ranting about him who demonstrates any familiarity whatsoever with his show.
To realize a conclusion about something, you have to be exposed to that something.
