Super DUPER Tuesday! Woohoo!

Hmmm. Two consecutive post titles with exclamation points. Two, even. I’ll have to watch that. I don’t have many pockets of restraint here, but my blog will not become an unchecked bangfest.

Well, I went and pissed in the wind for Ron Paul this morning.

Yeah, sorry. That’s a shitty attitude. But I stroked and nurtured it all morning and part of the afternoon, so I had to dump it somewhere. You see, my polling place had been open for an hour and a half when I got there, and I cast the 123rd ballot, but only the 4th Republican ballot.

Oh, my. A Democrat vote every 45 seconds and a Republican one every 23 minutes? Well, that’s not good for my guy, is it? I guess I need to start working on my woody for Obama. I do so hate to be left out, you know.

Sorry. ‘Tude. Vent. Again.

That particular story had improved considerably by this afternoon. Lea cast Republican ballot #252, and the Democrat roll was up to 150-something. So it would appear it’s an early riser thing, and not necessarily a disaster.

Yet. Give it a couple of hours.

Look, Ron Paul needed much more traction by now for me to still be genuinely excited about his candidacy. And barring success sufficient to fuel a plausible fantasy of a brokered convention tonight, I’m done. I’ll peel my sticker. Maybe I’ll change my Ron Paul sidebar link to something pointing to the U.S. Constitution.

I’ve been eligible to vote in four presidential elections, and I voted in all of them. (I missed being eligible in 1988 by five months.) 2008 may be the first one I sit out, as the stench of death is upon the only candidate offering a genuine difference.

Oh, well. At least the political theater is still good. I’ve loving the Clintons’ ongoing meltdown at someone daring to attempt to deny Hillary her coronation. And if McCain gets the Republican nomination, the chance we’ll see him slip a fucking gear and just go completely apeshit—in a debate, at the press, or whatever—is non-negligible.

Pass the popcorn.

  1. Isn’t it SAD that we – thinking, caring people of this country who take our responsibilities to it seriously – are feeling like this? My guy dropped out of the race almost immediately after my primary (where I was one of about 3000 votes total). The people who are best positioned to do the most good are the ones that have the snowball’s chance.

I’m pretty sure that’s NOT what the Founders intended…
