Our friend, Bowyer, got a Wii this Christmas, and Mr. Chili and his twin have been to his house twice since Christmas to play on the thing. I’m SERIOUSLY considering scoring one for a certain birthday that happens in May….
It only took about five minutes playing with the Wii on Christmas Eve for me to understand why they can’t build them fast enough. It was conceived and developed from a different perspective (not just faster, louder, and more detailed versions of what we have). The graphics and sound on the Wii are really just okay. It’s not cutting edge except in the control scheme, and oh wow, that’s plenty.
And thanks for the TV plaudits. I got it with 48 hours to spare on the start of football season, and a little less than three weeks to spare on the release of Halo 3 (both of which I wished to experience in HD). I’m still on continuous sensory overload watching the thing. It’s fabulous.
Lea finished that piece of furniture (the sanding, the staining, the sanding, the staining, the polyurethaning, the sanding, the polyurethaning). It was naked wood when we bought it. I think it’s the best piece she’s ever done.
I remember reading about the arrival of the t.v., but I don’t think I commented much knowing, as I do, almost nothing about either electronica OR video games. Still, I’m impressed with “WOW” when I see it, and that’s pretty WOW you’ve got there, my friend.
Also in the WOW category – Lea finishes furniture?! SHE’S a keeper. I’m USELESS with that sort of thing; I have neither the skill nor the fortitude to stay with it until it’s finished. I’m more of a buy-it-ready-to-use kind of gal. It’s just better that way.
I like finishing furniture. It’s something that my dad and I used to do together. So, honestly, I think this last piece turned out to be a way for me to work out some grief. I kind of wondered if that’s why it turned out so well…
The WII is a huge hit at our house. I would highly recommend it for the Mr.

Your T.V. set up is SWEET, by the way…
