So what did all of those late ’60s/early ’70s hippies who spent all of their time baked and/or tripping eventually do with themselves?
Well, I don’t know what else they did, but it definitely appears they produced public service announcements that ran during Saturday morning cartoons in the late ’70s.
“Look! A wagon wheel!”
(What is Timer, anyway?)

LOL! I remember when that was actually on TV. I always thought it was part of the School House Rock series for some reason though. Speaking of SHR, my favorite was “Little Tweleve Toes” which I’m not 100% certain, but I believe had something to do with counting in base 12. If so, why the heck was it on saturday morning TV?
PS: If you’re curious as to what happened to the children of “all of those late ’60s/early ’70s hippies who spent all of their time baked and/or tripping eventually do with themselves”, give Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim an after midnight viewing sometime. Some of that stuff is downright twisted!
Timer fears Chopper from “Exercise Your Choppers” like Chizik fears Saban!
Lee, I remember it too. I think you’d almost have to in order to get any serious entertainment out of it. I remember this spot and “Sunshine on a Stick”–about filling an ice tray with fruit juice, putting plastic wrap over it, and sticking toothpicks through the plastic wrap to make little popsicles.
BamaDan: “Hey Chopper! How ’bout runnin’ a few laps with us!” “Hey later man; I’m eatin’ a celery stick. This is CALLED exercise.”
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to settle down with a big ol’ bowl of Nutty Gritty.
thank you Bo, for a great memory to start my day and a fun song to sing all day long!
God that’s funny!!
That is great! I had totally forgotten about that. Thanks for the laugh in the middle of the day. It is interesting how “nutrition” changes over the years. I doubt any pediatricians would recommend stuffing “carb-loaded” crackers as an afternoon snack anymore!
Glad y’all enjoyed. I did too.
I thought of third Timer spot: “Don’t quibble, till you nibble/A dabble or a dibble/Of everything that’s on your plate and then/Go back and eat the things you like again!”
