- We had our last little hot spell, like we do many years, but nothing unseasonable is forecast for the next two weeks, so I’ll say it: fall is here now. Nothing unseasonable is forecast for the next two weeks.
- Both of our children will be home this weekend and we’re so looking forward to seeing them. Aaron has asked for more food than we could eat in a week. I think we’ll just be sending stuff with him!
- I think we’ve heard from our favorite folks who were in Ian’s path and they are all OK. Hundreds have died, and God be with their people.
- I still haven’t clicked over completely on getting up first thing and working outside for 30-60 minutes at first light, but I’m getting there. Of course I never want to do it just before it’s time to, but I certainly am glad I did two hours later.
- Well, I purchased NFL merchandise for the first time in my life. I bought a Tua jersey. However, despite all of the “official” and “made to NFL standards” and whatever else, it’s not remotely close to what the players wear. The numbers and the name are screened, for example. They’re patches on a real game jersey. I would have bought it anyway, but I hoped that for the money, it would be a closer replica than this. Here’s hoping it has a reasonable lifespan.
- I think I might have turned out to love science fiction movies anyway, but that affection got a heavy reinforcement from my dad. We watched a ton of great stuff together. I think I started losing him about the timeframe of The Matrix, though. I thought it was a game-changer. Still do. He thought it was boring. Couldn’t wait to talk about Dune with him last year. No, he didn’t like that either. He’s pumped about the Avatar sequel though.
- I hope you’ll consider coming to play Boo Bingo with the Soroptimists of Huntsville on Friday, October 28! This is an important cause to me, and this promises to be a fun and engaging event. See you there!
