Thursday miscellanea #583

Moved all the way out of my cubicle two weeks ago. I don’t have one now. That makes for interesting inventory. Now I have two pairs of over-the-ear headphones, two personal pepper mills, two little work-sized cans of WD-40…
We’re back to mop up the rest of Vera, even though it put us to sleep an awful lot the first time around. Perhaps our experience with swallowing two hours of Waking the Dead every night has hardened us. (The show is good; just something about her voice and the episode length.)
I get my second shot next week. I’ll wait probably another week after that and start relaxing my masking practices.
Had dinner plans tonight, so I switched my fast day (usually Thursday) to yesterday. Then they got canceled. I decided to push through and keep both days, for a total of 60 hours of fasting. Seems like it’s going all right. Curious how the evening will be and how I’ll sleep (generally I sleep very well after one day of fasting).
OK, now it’s been long enough since I wrote the previous bullet that I’ll tell you that I’m going to make it, but I’m no longer considering skipping breakfast tomorrow to make it 64 hours! Dinnertime on the second fasting day is not like dinnertime on the first.
Weather looks good for Sunday’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park. Looks a little dicier for qualifying and the Indy Lights race on Saturday, but we’ll see. First season out with Peacock instead of NBC Sports Gold for the comprehensive coverage, and there is no Peacock app on my television. So we’ll have to use a computer. Some big problems I have.
Locals, I checked on Pho Nam on County Line Tuesday night. There are tables, chairs, and a soda fountain inside, but alas, it still looks like at least several weeks to go.
