- Never heard of half the people whose nude photos were leaked this week.
- I’ve known for years that your body would burn alcohol before anything else for energy, so as long as it’s present, that’s what you’re running on. But did you know that your body’s ability to burn fat is damaged by up to 73% for several hours after you drink? I didn’t. Yipes.
- Tony Kanaan finally took the checkers Saturday night in the last IndyCar race of the year. Great win at Fontana, TK! And congratulations to Will Power on his first IndyCar championship!
- Huntsville’s own Earth and Stone Wood-Fired Pizza has been nominated as the best pizza truck in the country! Go vote for Stan and Tina!
- I felt a little better about the Alabama-West Virginia game looking at the stats the next morning and remembering that West Virginia only got six points in the second half. Still, I hope Alabama’s secondary improves a lot between now and September 20.
- Think Radio Shack will make it? I don’t visit often, but when I do, it’s about even odds they’re my only option for immediate satisfaction (i.e., not having to go online or waiting for somewhere else to be open). Be a shame if they went under. Maybe I’ll go by soon just because.

I think RadioShack needs to pivot its business model significantly back to its bread and butter: Hardware nerds. In specific, I think they need to:
-Down size to one or two stores in any Huntsville size metro area, maybe one location in a place like a college town that’s engineering heavy.
-Do away with the front two thirds of their store.
-Cater much more heavily to the DIY Hobbiest Electronics, 3D-Printer, and HAM/CB Radio crowd.
It’s a niche that has a market that no one is really focusing on, and it’s a market that doesn’t have any foreseeable end to its lifetime.
Hardware is indeed what I’m nearly always after when I go to Radio Shack. Good thoughts, Tahm.
